Km walk is rated 2+ due to uneven terrain.

Km walk is rated 1+.
TRAIL:
The 11 K route is on dirt trails and
paved roads. The route will leave the
overlook and go partway down into the American River canyon. You will come back up and end up on Pacific St. FROM
THIS POINT ON THE 6 K ROUTE AND 11 K ROUTE ARE THE SAME. You will proceed, on sidewalks or streets, from
there down into Old Town Auburn, where Gold Rush buildings still stand, pass by antique
shops and the Claude Chana Statue near where he found gold nuggets. From Old Town you
will proceed up to the historic Placer County Courthouse. After leaving the Courthouse you
will go "uptown" to the Clock Tower. You will pass through the more modern
business district then return to the start/finish at Overlook Park.. The canyon portion of the
11 K route is not suitable for either wheelchairs or strollers. The town part of the 11 K route and the
6 K route will be difficult for both wheelchairs and strollers.

Only is $3.00. You may walk free if no credit
is desired. There will be no refunds.

MISCELLANEOUS: There will be
restrooms and water at the start and in Old Town Auburn.
Pets are ok on leash with clean-up.
DIRECTIONS:
From the East on
I-80,
take the Newcastle #115 exit and cross over
the freeway. At the stoplight, turn LEFT onto Indian Hill Rd. From the West on I-80, take the Newcastle
#115 exit and continue STRAIGHT AHEAD through the intersection onto Indian Hill Rd. From
both directions, continue on Indian Hill Rd to Auburn Folsom Rd (stoplight). Turn LEFT
on to Auburn Folsom Rd. Continue to Pacific St. (stoplight). Turn RIGHT on Pacific St. Cross Auburn Folsom Rd. Continue to Auburn Dam Overlook Park on the right.
Look for the start/finish tables toward the
back of the park on the right.

PROCEDURES: This event is open to everyone. Volkssports, including volkswalks, are
noncompetitive events. Walk, jog or run at
your own pace. Each participant, whether free
or paid, must register and sign an Amateur Athletic Waiver and Release of Liability
(Parent or Guardian must sign for a minor) at the start point. A control (start) card will be issued upon
registration. It must be carried during the
walk, validated at control points along the route and turned in at the finish upon
completion of the walk. An adult must
accompany children under 12 on the walk. Bathrooms
and water will be available at the start/finish.

GENERAL
INFORMATION: If
you enjoy walking for exercise or for pleasure, being outdoors, sightseeing, history,
seeing new places and meeting nice people, you will love volkssporting. There are several clubs in the greater Sacramento
area. The clubs take special pride in providing quality volkssport events throughout the
area. Historic and scenic sites and trails
provide the backdrop for these noncompetitive sporting events. In addition to regular
weekend events only available on the advertised date(s), there are many year round
(permanent) events available throughout the greater Sacramento area, the State of
California and the United States. These
include, but are not limited to, walk, bicycle, swim and cross-country skiing events.
