START/FINISH LOCATION:

Carrow’s restaurant, 209 Main Street, Placerville, CA 95667. 

EVENT TIMES:

Sun-Mon 6AM-10PM.  Tues through Sat. 6AM-11PM. Closed Christmas. 

 PROCEDURE:  The metal file box, with the AVA logo and Placer Pacers logo is on a shelf behind the cash register station. Sign the log, take a map and have a great walk.  When you return, stamp your books, take a stamped envelope and mail your check, payable to the Placer Pacers.

PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT STAFF IF THEY ARE WAITING ON CUSTOMERS OR ASK THEM VOLKSSPORT QUESTIONS.

 WATER/RESTROOMS:  Restrooms available at start, along route and at the Gold Bug Park.  PLEASE CARRY WATER IN HOT WEATHER.

 TRAIL RATING/DESCRIPTION:  The 10Km is rated 2+   The 5Km is rated 2

The 10km & 5km will take you through historic downtown, passing the historic site of the famous/infamous hanging tree where the past name of the town got its name.  Also, you will pass many more historic buildings,

one of which is the oldest hardware store west of the Mississippi and through some residential areas.  The 10km will continue to a historic Gold Mine, where you will walk on dirt trails throughout the park.  Also, this walk

10 & 5Km is part of the Old Lincoln Highway route for those interested. 

FEES:  IVV Credit $3.00        Walk only FREE

 DIRECTIONS:  From Sacramento take 1-50 eastbound, exit RIGHT at Spring Street/CA 49. Turn LEFT onto Main Street. Carrow’s is just past the Shell gas station on the LEFT.   From Lake Tahoe, take 1-50 westbound, to Placerville.  At 2nd stoplight turn LEFT onto Spring Street/CA 49, then turn LEFT onto Main Street, Carrow’s  restaurant is just past the Shell gas station on the LEFT.
